Chris Engels specialises in labour and employment law, more specifically dismissal law (both individual and collective). He is also a specialist in transfer of undertakings, outsourcing and applicable law issues in an international context. His doctoral thesis was entitled 'The subordinate employment relationship under Belgian labour law'. In the field of European law, Chris Engels pays particular attention to the European Works Council.

Chris Engels has worked on a multitude of international projects dealing amongst other things with business transfers or outsourcing in multiple jurisdictions, establishments of European work councils and transnational collective dismissal projects.
