Individual Employment Rights

The Individual Employment Rights Practice Group focuses on all individual rights for an employee vis-à-vis his or her employer, following either local law or the employment contract.

We enable businesses to develop solutions to variations in local law and employment contracts across multiple countries.

Our cross-border group is aware of strong demand from international clients for this type of information, where comparisons enable businesses to quickly establish what kind of difficulties can be expected in various jurisdictions.

The individual employment rights group first published a guide on individual dismissals across Europe in 2008, which was updated in 2011. That document provides a detailed overview of the various dismissal procedures in 23 countries within Europe. Also available is a cross-border publication on non-compete clauses, with useful information on the topic from 27 countries within Europe and the Americas.

The team recently organised an academy on individual employment rights for clients, and is currently working on putting together a format for an international employment contract.
