Ius Laboris University: Where Learning Creates Leaders
At Ius Laboris, we understand the importance of the internal growth and development of every one of our lawyers. The Ius Laboris University focuses on the professional development of our most important asset – our people! After all, to be the undisputed leaders in labour, employment and pensions law, every associate must be able to deliver the highest quality and most consistent service to our clients.
Never Stop Learning
The Ius Laboris University provides an opportunity for our associates to further develop their specialist knowledge and soft skills, whilst interacting with lawyers from other member firms. The event offers workshops for professional growth along with a varied social programme which ensures that lawyers throughout Ius Laboris get know each other well, the better to work together. Each event is designed to encourage learning, networking and idea sharing.
Tailored Course Streams
Our last event for European members took place in London from the 14 to 17 June 2017. Later this year, we will host a University experience for our firms in the Americas. A typical Ius Laboris University programme offers two parallel course streams, which allows members to study the more applicable area for them. At our most recent University even , we offered a module on International Project Management and an alternative course on Business Skills. There were also opportunities for everyone to learn about industry hot topics such as data protection and marketing.
In our International Project Management programme, attendees are given the tools and techniques to enable them to work across borders. This improves efficiency and effectiveness, resulting in increased client satisfaction. Our Business Skills module focusses either on Presentation Skills or Negotiation and offers training on legal drafting in English using English as a business language.
The University speakers are the perfect mix of associates and external experts. Previous external speakers have included Serge Zimmerlin (VP of HR at SGD) and Judith Raphaely (an industry expert on Communication Skills).
The current internal group of University presenters consists of Román Gil Alburquerque of Sagardoy Abogados, Spain; Philip Nabben of Bronsgeest Deur advocaten, Netherlands; Valeria Morosini of Toffoletto de Luca Tomajo e Soci, Italy; Hannah Price of Lewis Silkin, UK; Dan Waldman of FordHarrison, US; and Sophie Maes of Claeys & Engels, Belgium.
Our University is where learning and experience come together. It’s the physical space where Ius Laboris lawyers solve problems, have conversations and build their capabilities. The course aims to make a meaningful impact on our people and community worldwide.
